Browsing through self defense products, it is likely that you’ll come across at least one of the following products-stun gun, Taser, or pepper spray. These three products are by far the most common ways in which people defend themselves against attackers. But even though these are the most common, that doesn’t mean they are the only options. Do a little more research and digging, and it’s very likely that you’ll soon also find the stun baton as a viable self defense product.

While not as many people think to use these stun batons for self defense, they are well known to the general public. This is because they are considered the favored weapon of police officers in riots everywhere. But stun batons don’t have to be used just to fend off the rioting and unruly. Rather, they can be effective and useful in preventing or stopping a one on one attack. They work in the same way as stun guns and Tasers in that they deliver an electric shock, which can temporarily debilitate the muscle function of an attacker. But the baton has the added benefit of allowing you to be farther from your attacker.
