My Trip to Jewel
Author: adminYesterday I had to pick up some groceries. I am going to enter a baking contest this weekend so I needed supplies to make my cookies. The cookies I am making are called Nutty Oatmeal Chips. I sort of made it up myself because I altered the recipe from just plain chocolate chips to include peanut butter chips. They seem to have turned out pretty well and since there are currently over 100 I sure hope others think they are good, too. Anyway, while I was checking out I realized that I had forgot my Jewel card at home and I would therefore have to pay more unless I had it. Usually if you go through the regular checkouts the cashiers give you the discounted prices, but I happened to be in self-checkout and the lines for the regular checkouts were enormous. I opted to ask the person in the self-checkout next to me if he, by any chance, had his card, and if, by any chance, I could borrow it. He said “Sure” in a not-to-confident voice and I watched as he removed the card from his key chain. He was very nice about it and even gave me it to keep, but watching him take it off the key chain made me think. Most people probably wouldn’t think far enough in advance to take it off the key chain. I wondered if I would have even thought that far in advance, despite all that I have learned by being apart of a security products website. The moral of my story is pretty simple. We all need to just slow down in life and think about what the consequences of our actions could be. The guy was kind enough to let me borrow his card, but was also smart enough to think of what could happen if my intentions were not only for the card.
Protect Yourself All the Time
Author: adminI went out yesterday to this art auction that some of my drawings were in. The profits made from the art went to help animals. It felt great to participate in something like that because art and animals are two of my favorite things. After that I went out to dinner which happened to be pizza. On the way there I noticed how there were so many people out on a nice, beautiful day like yesterday was. It made me think of how even on the really nice days around my neighborhood there still aren’t a lot of people out.
I often walk my dogs and it is sometimes kind of frightening walking down a few of the streets that aren’t occupied. This is why I always carry something to protect myself. I have both a pepper spray which is disguised as another object and a personal alarm. I switch off, but no matter where I am going I always make sure I have some way of protecting myself on me. I have heard too many stories of people being mugged, abducted, raped, or even killed. I was related to someone who was killed by her own husband. Knowing that you can’t even be perfectly secure in your own home just proves to me that the street is going to be even worse. You can’t let your guard down for even a minute. The best way to protect yourself is to know and be aware of your surroundings, have something to help protect yourself, and be knowledgeable about how to use it. I make sure I am doing all three wherever I go.
Use Your Illusion

A beach is the perfect setting for a relaxing summer afternoon with friends, but it can also be a prime location for criminal activity. Crooks thrive in public places; the excitement and confusion of a beach setting can distract people from protecting their valuables. Before you let all your cares drift away in the cool offshore breeze, think about protecting your personal effects from nefarious interlopers.
If a criminal is active, it means he probably hasn’t been caught and therefore possesses some modicum of intelligence. He fully expects you to hide your bill fold in the toe of your shoe – that’s practically the oldest trick in the book. Diversion safes offer a smart alternative, allowing you to hide your valuables confidently in plain sight. What appears to be a can of fruit cocktail ready to be opened for a beach picnic is really something else entirely. It’s storing your prized possessions, and giving you the satisfaction of outwitting potential thieves.
My Random Home Security Thought of the Day!
Author: adminToday I had a random thought while just leaving my house. I was only going out for a few hours to run a few errands and grab lunch with my family, but this occurence triggered a random thought about home security in these devastating economic times. We had no sooner pulled away from our house when my mother spotted a random kid walking down the street. We live on a corner near a busy street so it was no big deal to see someone nearby, but my mother felt that there was something alarming about him. Despite my trying to convince her that it was just an ordinary person walking down the street, she insisted that we double back to make sure that he wasn’t doing anything bad. On our return around the block the kid was nowhere to be found and although it made my mother’s mind race, it did not affect me whatsoever. That is, however, not at that instant.
On the way to the pet store to pick up some dog food I could not stop thinking about how my mother’s worries could have so easily been alleviated. I have been working for awhile now on my security website trying to make it a success and it just occurred to me that I may easily have the solution to our problem. The hard economic times are affecting everyone and robbery is becoming an increasing dilemma throughout our country, but especially throughout major cities such as mine. There are fewer jobs and therefore chances to make money right now so there are people out there willing to risk theft in order to either get what they want, such as electronics, or what they need, such as food. Although we have shortened our spending lately a home alarm would be a wise investment. It would not only ease my mother’s mind, but would also protect our belongings in the event that there is a robbery. I am currently trying to decide among the many home security alarms that my website offers since many of them seem sufficient for our situation.
Finding the Right Self Defense Product
Author: Protecting-number1Within the world of self defense, there are so many products that one can choose from. But the most important thing before purchasing is to determine which of these products will work best for you. As such, you’re going to want something that is entirely intuitive and easy for you to use. If you have to fumble with the device or take time to figure it out in an attack situation, the self defense weapon will essentially be useless for you.
You’ll also want something that’s small and convenient. If you have to haul something cumbersome around in your purse, it’s not very likely that you’ll continue this routine. That’s why so many people are interested in carrying a Kubaton. These are exceedingly easy to use, so many people can use them effectively even when under duress. This makes it an ideal gift for someone looking for that perfect self defense product.
